Description

Well, another update. So far so good. This is rendered in Poser 6, with Material Collections set up. I still may make some changed to the brass highlights as far as rivets and hinges go, as I think this particular yellow is a bit too much. I like the yellow against the black lacquered shader, but that isn't done yet. Anyways, this is the base texture set and with the current settings I think it came out rather well. Looks very much like steel, without the high polish. The sword frog is fully articulated, has four bones for adjusting it. So far it works really well, and allows the maneuvering of the sword and scabbard to prevent clipping in pretty much any circumstance. The gauntlets, though more gothic in their design, are staying. The wrist potion has been changed to fit the suit, and at a later point when I do some jousting armor, I'll include some more mitten like milanese gauntlets. Found a really cool set online that would be nice to model. I still have to make some morphs for dents and stuff, and even for the gambeson to prevent break throughs, though I may not make morphs for bodybuilder and such. I may adapt the suit separately, as all the articulating parts offers some real challenges for full body morphs of that nature. May make a suit or adapt this one for the freak as well, but that may depend on the success of this suit. Also, I did a suit a long while ago for Viki 4, and I may update that, or even adapt parts of this for her as well. It had a nice fox shaped pig faced bascinet helm too. Anyways, there is still a shield, and a halberd coming. I dropped the skirt in this one, but I want to bring it back. However, the way I had the last one rigged really didn't work for poses like kneeling, or sitting. I may go dynamic, and I may not. I haven't decided yet. If anyone has some good ideas regarding good rigging for a skirt, I'd be all to happy to listen :D I am still very much a student and love to learn how to do things better. Anyways, that's all for now. Let me know what you think. Cheers :) Swidhelm Darrin

Looks outstanding to me. Would magnet balls work on a skirt to help bend it in the right places? I don't know.

Do like! The helmet and legs are perfect, and the details on the sword... something looks a little off to me on the specularity on some of the other pieces though. Can't say what it is straight off the top of my head though, maybe the highlight size is a touch too large? Not sure. Very nice how the joints are moving.

The materials on this look perfect, I think the gold would look better if it was darker.... more like antiqued brass.... just an idea :) The design and modeling is fantastic! It's gonna look even better in my runtime :)lol

I'm finding it hard to express just how awed I am by this suit! It looks amazing! I haven't a clue how you could improve on it from here, as this looks damn near perfect!! All that's left for me to say is... I WANT! I WANT!! I WANT!!! Gimmee gimmee!!

This is getting to be an absolutely outstanding looking armor set! These textures look awesome and I like the more 'rustic' steel look than the uber shine chrome look that I've seen on other armor sets (though, admittedly, that does have it's place too). I think I agree with Blbarrett about the accents looking a little more antiqued would fit more in style with this particular texure setting. I like that you're putting in bones on the frog. Working with other armor sets out there that have similar pieces don't tend to put artiulation in them and the really do need to be able to move like that. Really though, this looks outstanding and can't wait to see the next update on it. Okay, now here's a fool question, is the base armor going to be able to run in programs like DAZ?
