Description

An exercise in lighting, based on a Geekatplay tutorial, suddenly took a sinister turn when the trackers walked silently into the picture. Background created in Vue 8.4 Infinite; figures morphed, posed and rendered in Poser 8; signature in Photoshop CS3. V4 morphs ++ and Complicated Eve outfit from Daz3D. It's OK - I got away unharmed... Craig thumb_2054354.jpg

Guess they were on a mission, looking for someone even more dangerous than you. Lucky, they don't look like people you'd want on your bad side. Amazing light and excellent integration of the two scenes.

The problem with trackers is those apparently simple glasses are just one bit of their high-tech arsenal. SO I hear. When they're wearing those stylish multi-spectrum scanners, there's simply nowhere to hide. They don't have to run after you...they can just pick up your distinct bioelectrical signature and take their own sweet time. Wonderful scene. It's odd...I see them as trackers, but with a more advanced scout vibe to them; they could be hunting quarry, or they could also be surveyors in a somewhat hostile realm (which explains why they're armed.) But that's what works with this image: that sort of visual ambiguity gives just enough of a narrative to tell what's going on, but withholds enough information to let you draw your own conclusions. The mood and the lighting are perfect here, and there's a sense that sound plays a major part in this environment too...it's an image, and thus, silent...but I can imagine all sorts of critters chortling, cooing, and chirping like biological fax machines off in the distance. Oh and speaking of strange critters, I was recently zapped by bat sonar...it's weird...you can hear the bat chirp or shriek and if the bat in question is facing you, you can hear a buzz zooming by your ear. I suspect my sonar-echo really confused that poor insect-eating bat! That has nothing to do with this image, but the image itself makes me think of all sorts of things. Great work. It's very evocative.

The lighting is superb, I especially love the mist in the background. Very effective. The Trackers poses are so natural, they act like they own the place. So well done.
