Description

Bryce6.1/DazStudio/Photoshop Unlike it's mountain cousins, the Lowland Dragon had very little in the way of high cliffsides and rocky ledges in which to find a lair. What little high ground there was to be found was fiercely contested,so the only choice was to go below ground, using whatever natural rock formations or scrubby brush there was for cover.Digging down at a very steep angle afforded easy entry in an emergency, and made it very difficult for enemies to gain access without losing their footing and tumbling in...a distinct advantage for any dragon within to strike their floundering attacker. Dragon is the Subdragon LE from Daz3D(posed in DazStudio),foreground trees are from Daz's Trees For The Forest set for Bryce.Terrain textures are modified from the Seriously Real Materials 5-6,foreground rocks are terrains rendered in a modified mossy stone texture.Sky,light and atmo are all custom. The background shrubs are terrains rendered in a modified vegetation texture, duplicated and re-rendered in a modified foliage texture to add the effect of leaves. In Photoshop I made a levels adjustment, used the cloning tool to help shape the background shrubs, added some touches of foreground grass and my signature. Thanks for viewing, and any comments you wish to leave!

Excellent composition and lighting. It's very rare to see dragons out and about in the middle of the day...

Fine landscape, but what really appeals to me is the way the dragon's shadow flows over the ground.
