Description

i drove up to this dock and got out to take photos. some shimpers guys was getting off they boats and they looked mad. I just keep on takeing photos and they looked at me but they got into they trucks and drove off. I was not up on the news and still not. I do not have a thing on my tv to get a picture. Anyway this is the day that the shimpers find out that it may be 3 years or longer before they fish again. I think that why they was mad. Not at me but they lost they big lively hood. Shimper around here do diff things year round to keep the money comeing in. some weild some crayfish ...guess what ever it takes to make a liveing. Goverment say nothing yet that I know of...if it was Bush they have field day with him but here nothing????? This is a big shamp boat. i got photos of small ones too thanks for looking and comments

Ya got my heart with this one...you knew you would. :-) Fancy stuff here too. Nothing will be allowed to be pulled out of the water - crawfish, crabs, oysters...everything these people rely on to feed their families will be shut down. Most don't know anything else... maybe some machining, maybe some construction... but when your heart is in the nets, this can be the end of all your dreams. Three years is a long time to go without a food and utilities...

It's a sad story Jock. I'm sorry they have to go through that. At least the oil hasn't hit the beaches. Excellent shot! (:

The whole situation is sad. I hope there is some way they can save the shrimping industry, but it doesn't look good for the folks down there. Nice photo.

The long term impacts are going to hurt everyone. Yes my heart aches for the local folk. This has been their families life blood for generations and at a time when things are hard enough. Nice image and boat!

This is an unbelievable disaster. What's to become of these fishermen and their equipment? Their families? They will lose so much because of this off shore drilling. And these big companies will just keep on drilling, never mind the cost of a disaster like this one.
