This took over six hours to render - must be the trees/grass or something. Weird.

Vegetation can take oodles of render time. This is a very beautiful result in any case! Gorgeous horse and rider! Excellent work!

As I understand it, using deep shadow maps with shadow softness set to 100% on renders with hair and vegetation and no reflections will cut render times substantially. But, I'm still toiling in lighting. The six hours were definitely worth it.
