Don't be looking at me, I never ate em. This one's a bit tough to comment on for me, I never had a good relationship with either of my parents. Mother was clinically paranoid & hated pretty much every living thing, (then there was daddy dearest who could not function (or hit straight thank god) without a drink). But, Line #6 DID come out of my grandmothers mouth, lol. Without my grandparents, I hate to think what I'd have turned into.

shadownet left these words as he faved this upload.... I wanted to put it with my comments. Rob said: ROFLMHO at your list of lessons learned! Great dedication! I know you miss your mom same as I miss mine. Luckily my mom taught me one important lesson as well. Some day I may even remember what it was. I was sort of hardheaded and wasn't really listening when she said it.

LOL, such a perfect posting for Mother's Day!! I think it's genetic .. I think all mother's say this to your kids. I swear that's why my daughter decided not have kids .. because I told her too often: "wait till you kids of your own, you'll see" and she didn't want to see, ROFL!!

Very touching render Mike! I had a great laugh and cry as well when I read your words..It is coming up on a year (june 5th) since Mom passed and it feels to me that she is still home there in Cape Breton- and I will see her again when we go and visit.....but then reality sets in and I remember that she is no longer with us....Man it is hard...And it is hard for everyone- no matter how many years go by... Beautiful work Mike, I agree about the recipe as well.....love your Mom , forget the little quarrels and remember....she will not be with you forever......... Love ya Anne

I just got back from spending a week with my mom so this seemed a good place to drop a comment. (I love your Valentine's Day post too.) Mom has been writing down her memories for us. She gave me 6 typed pages and it was wonderful to read of her childhood and college days. It is excellently written and has a lot of humor thrown in. She talked about the chores that she and her sister did and mentioned her brother too. "I don't remember what Jim did (not much I think)." In my family there would have been a few chocolates still in the tray. They would look a little worse for wear with cracks where we had opened them up to see what was inside and then smushed them back together again. Dad would eat them eventually. Very funny and touching post! I agree, I am very lucky. And I came home with a great recipe too!
