Description

The Black-necked Stilt (Himantopus mexicanus) is a locally abundant shorebird of American wetlands and coastlines. It is found from the coastal areas of California through much of the interior western US, and along the Gulf of Mexico, as far east as Florida. They are 13 17 inches (33 43cm) long and mostly only seen in pairs. Photo taken this morning. Some information from Wikipedia. A great ZOOM! Thanks for stopping by, taking a look and for all your previous comments. Dana
