This is a major rework of the planet I used in my previous image. I kind of cheated before, as my planet was a large image I had made in photoshop placed, on a flat poly. I knew that wasn't going to fly in an animation though, so I started to work on an actual planet model applying texture techniques I learned from the painted image After several hours of applying numerious different techniques and tweaking, I finally created something that I was satisfied with.
