Description

*locked poverty* Near rich places in Lisbon, there are very small *patios* like this, that seem to be locked and kept away from the rest of the world...something that make me think about poverty in prison! Thank you very much for viewing:) (better with zoom)

It is an interesting study looking a buildings. I have the same feelings that I did seeing Nikolay's building photos. The exterior is a facade that tells of age and experience, histories of the lives that have lived their over the years. This one still has residents, but the exterior tells nothing about the interiors. That goes for people as well as buildings. The exterior facade is no gage to happiness or lack of it. In this case, if this is a rental property, it says more about the landlord. He seems not to value the property as anymore that a way to get some money from it. I hope the interior structure is not like the exterior. That would be sad, and would effect those living inside. Wonderful shot, Ana, filled with human interest and spirits.

Poverty is indeed a prison. BUT... It looks as if those inhabitants are friendly with each other..with chairs outside where maybe they sit and talk. Rich people don't know if their 'friends' are real or not.

What a fantastic shot Ana. It looks like poverty and still there is a feeling of stringth in there. Trying to make it look homely and cosy with the plants. Making the best out of the situation. That is admirable. That is brave.

This is interesting, quite beautiful in many ways, and a glimpse into lives that may or may not be pleasant. It's hard to tell. The locked gate is somewhat telling and maybe even depressing, but you've captured a part of life and that is excellent. There is a sense of every day reality here, but it's somehow different from "regular" every day, at least to me. I love this glimpse into another place. It is beautiful and compelling!

Poverty is everywhere, Ana. And what's worse, some dumb heads like our prez and his gang of so-called democrats, is trying to transform this country into a socialist one... perhaps he doesn't know what that means, but I lived 27 years under the horror of communism and I know exactly how the life is under such circumstances...

if there wouldnt be the washings in the background, ana, i would think of a forgotten place, the door in the foreground makes me think of something locked away. and the poverty you speak about is another view to look at this, and obviously to see, with some sadness and melancholy, but beautiful too! wonderful seen, ana :)
