This is incredibly nice, and I'm probably revealing too much personal information that will date me, but this reminds me of the best magazine covers from the now-defunct (and greatly-missed) OMNI Magazine! Gods, I loved that magazine and wish I still had my old copies! The editors of OMNI had a real thing for futuristic heads like this one and well...I could easily see this gracing the cover of an issue of that cultural gem; even now I see something like this and begin to anticipate interesting articles on something like particle physics, next to the "UFO Update" which would invariably stand between some other interesting article and a brilliant science fiction story. Ah...OMNI had it all, it was true mind-candy with quite a bit of substance and this image brings all of that spiraling back for me. On top of that, it's a marvelous image in its own right, a perfectly moody and evocative piece of human-centered art. Superb!
