Description

Antje and Bez thank you so much for the fabulous 'Bubblelicious Bgd's' they are amazing and I loved creating this picture here, so thanks for the inspiration guys. The mother cat is Ruby who is the mother of both my cat Freddie seen in the arms of the mermaid (by folkvangar but I added the scales on her chest for my children's book), and my daughter's cat Simba, the red silver tabby sat on the mermaids knee. I took the photos of Ruby and the kittens aged 5 weeks. The mother cat Ruby has a sister called Looby and both the girls reared their offspring at that time together, so the kittens were more than used to feeding from both the Mum's and their seemed to be total harmony and trust. The little kitten edging up to Ruby is actually one of Looby's babies, so hence the other inspiration in the title of this picture. Beautiful render Jane, such gorgeous kitties! As always your work touches me deeply, its that total love and trust of the animals to humans(in this case mermaids)that is always in your work... and I so miss having an animal that viewing your kitties makes me less lonely. Wishing you well with your book, Alex has now talked me into doing one too, for Native American children. But it will be a while, waiting out the health stuff. I hope this finds you well, I think of you so often and wonder how you are. I hope today is a good day:-)xo

Beautiful mermaid and wonderful cats! Lovely composition, color and detail! I love the fairies playing with her hair and the spray at the bottom of the rock. Excellent interaction between the kitties! Love the momma cat and baby and the paw reaching out to touch the ginger kitten. The other ginger kitten has found an excellent perch. Wonderful image!

So very sweet and precious.... makes me sad about the news I heard about all those animals being put down due to a lack of space... it's heart breaking, really. Such sweet animals, and the way you've presented them is just sensational, and so very soft and touching!
