Description
This is one of my favorite renders that I've ever done. I did it for Mada's merbaby contest. Coolest thing is I used a modified version of Bagginsbill's torus trick for the ripples: the ripples around the mermaid are just tori with fresnel and a fractal sum displacement map! :D All the snow was painted in with Ron Deviney's brushes.

Wow! You'll have to teach me that trick; the water looks awesome. Great job.

Poor little fishy girl. The water looks great. The only thing that looks awkward are the big blocks of ice in the background. Something a little more iceberggy (sp?) would look better.
