Description
I have posted on the vendor support forum, but I am aware that some of you rarely look at those, so I post here too..
http://www.renderosity.com/mod/forumpro/showthread.php?thread_id=2801914
This will take you to my forum post, where all you vendors will find full details of a site you should ALL check on.
YOUR PRODUCTS ARE BEING STOLEN!
The number of Renderosity products available on this site is absolutely astounding! Two of mine went on there within days of them being released, one of them on the very day of release.
In the post, you will find complete details of ownership for the site, domain registrar, home phone number, address and email.
He is uncooperative and arrogant, and rather than removing the links as requested, he hides them in his VIP area, accessible by registered members only.
I am now blocked from his site, after threatening further action.
So, do yourselves and me a big favour, go look at my forum post and then check for your products on his site. Hit him with Cease and Desist mail, cause him no end of grief and lets get him shut down!

Same here, Chas. This sucks, and I'm sorry that the unscrupulous thieves are jacking your wares. I hope you and the rest of the Rendo community can do something about it.

Thanks for the heads up. Most of us have had this happen to us many times with our products. Sadly there does not seem to be a lot to we can do about it for a lot of different reasons which I will not go into here. The people who steal and sell or give away other folks stuff would not succeed if there were not so many people who gladly support them. Too many want something for nothing and feel they are entitled to whatever, and if they can not afford it, they have the right to acquire it some other way, and even if they can afford it, why buy when you can get it for free. Hiring a hitman is (morally, politically, socially etc) out of the question I suppose. Hmm, any voodoo doctors in the house? :O)

Sorry to hear this! It's not hard to believe - as was pointed out, people will do anything just because they think they can. Good luck on getting them shut down

Can you post the link to the site here Chas? This is terrible but am not suprised. Same with the renders they are stealing as well. What is rendo doing to help stop the piracy as they are profiting from your work as well.

the problem with piracy is that its too global and unstopable , its sad but fact , Im not a vendor ( yet ) but my renders and 2D images + animations are being used on some sites without my permission , thats not plesant but i cant stop it . In all the time that i make images it only happened 1 time that someone asked me permission to use it for a webside and i granted it cause i was flatterd LOL I just stopped checking where or by who my images where stolen and stopped thinking about it ( helped me feeling less sad over it ) And on the other hand , everyone knows how easy it is to take an image , so one that we dont wanna share we shouldn't post i was once told , on the vendors piracy is worse cause for some its there income that gets stolen a bit , but well as we cant stop piracy , we not stop checking for it and feel less angry when you dont know about it Untill we do know a way we can actually stop them global For me in Belgium there isn't even a law against piracy , otherwise i would allready be rich from sueing them personal

I suggest if you have products that you wish to sell, you do it on an independant page other than at Rendo. You can set up your own shopping cart with many different versions that are out there, and you can use various methods of payment as well. If you like, you can look into one of the easiest brands of shopping cart software to use from "Coffee Cup". After that, all you need to do is to set up your account and you're ready to go. It's a breeze!
