Description
This is the first of 3 images showing Common Whitetail Dragonflies. This is a mature female. Image 2 will show an immature male and image 3 will show a mature male.
Immature males and females have the same body colors but different wing patterns. The mature males have white abdomens.
Many species of dragonflies have different gender colors and several genders have different wing patterns. Many species are named based on the mature male colors.
