Description
What an ostentatious display of affluence, and, oh yes, Buy This Car!
Captured 5/16/10, mid morning, at the beautiful 16th Annual Muckenthaler Motor Car Festival, held at the beautiful Muckenthaler Cultural Center in beautiful Fullerton, California.
A ZOOM is a must for better detail.
The Tiffany Classic is arguably a kit car, and according to my research, was often built on a Mercury Cougar chassis. The owner of this one, a woman, said hers was basically a Lincoln, and not to be confused with the Excalibur. This was a headache to research on the web because there are so many customized versions of it. You're welcome to Google it for further information.
Anyway, I spent two wonderful, but grueling days, at this event, and by grueling I mean my back and legs were killing me after negotiating the semi-steep hill and dale grounds in an effort to photograph the vehicles, which were parked at all kinds of angles, so I often had to sturdily prop myself up to avoid falling over backwards in snapping many of the shots. At least the festival was held on grass. I'm still in a bit of pain, and apparently getting too old for this kind of stuff. Maybe I should just stick to capturing ducks and geese at a quiet lake.
I took a total of 1409 pictures at the event. In fact, I took 19 shots of the Tiffany Classic alone. The first day at the festival was devoted to the rod and custom vehicles, and the second day, which was much more popular with the attendees, was for the Concours d'Elegance display of exquisite automobiles. The second day was great for fotos because it was held under a cloudy overcast which precluded all the nasty flares, glares and stark lighting contrast you get with full sunshine, although the sun did make a periodic appearance later on in the afternoon. All in all, it was almost as much fun as photographing geese and flowers.
As you can tell by the number of pics I took, there are more uploads to come of this event. In the meantime, I've got tons/tonnes of postwork yet to do from the thousands of fotos I've already taken this month, which is only half over.
Toodles, thankx for stopping by, and for any and all complimentary comments and favs.

Beautiful details on this one!

Wonderful shots! I love seeing the whole car from different angles and then details. When I was in New York visiting Leslie (my sister), I spent 3 1/2 hours at Battery Park while she had to work. I took 498 pictures. I love all the horns! They are so flamboyant! Love the reflections on the forth shot and the little lady on the last one. She looks like she's frowning. When you think of all the bugs she's eaten it's no surprise.

OK, Sir Harry...I am back:) Been driving and getting relocated as a northern neighbor of yours in Washington. It'll take me a couple of days to catch back up with you but I'll get there. I'm with you...this is a bit over the top as an automobile...all fiberglass if I remember right. But it is interesting and you've done a superb job. Wow, over 1400 pictures huh? You'll have enough to keep Rob and me happy for some time.
