You're absolutely right, that alienation breeds social pathology. But I'll take you one further. Here in Michigan, our scat-munching governor, John Engler, has decided to close all mental institutions and "reintegrate" mentally ill people into society. So there are mentally ill people, schizophrenics and all, living in apartment complexes and, here's the really fun part, they can't tell you who lives where because of confidentiality! So, if your neighbor acts "odd" or tries to kill you one day, s/he may just be clinically insane. Actually, there is an apartment complex (I know this from some inside info) where my wife used to live while we were dating, that has apparently made some deal with the State and has about 2 dozen insane people living there. And this place is only about 2 miles from my house. Let "freedom" ring...

interesting message and a nice dirty background. however, i am troubled that stevey is somehow convinced that mental ill people are criminals.

i do not agree!
stalkers existed way long before the net and if those people could stay in virtual envi long enought probably real people would be much safer!

I fail to see how one leads to the other. The phrase "post hoc ergo propter hoc" comes to mind...
