Description
Launched in 1868, she was a turreted warship and the most powerful unit in the Victorian Navy. She patrolled the waters of Port Philip Bay for many years. In 1901, after the federation of the Australian colonies, she was incorporated into the Commonwealth naval forces, which became the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) in 1911.
She was sunk as a breakwater in 1926 in Port Phillip Bay Melbourne Australia and proudly serves in this role to this day.
