Description
Let's see... background is a photo taken by me in near Valdez, Alaska, two Septembers ago. Hair was painted by me.
On a side note... the yellow jackets are once more thick... and extremely aggressive this year. I've been chased around the yard more often than I care to actually admit, and have actually had to retreat inside on occasion as well.... makes dealing with the moving sale a lot more difficult. Anyways, yesterday, as I was sorting through yet another box of items and pricing them, I felt something crawling on my leg, and without thinking - cus i assumed it was a mosquito, i did the flamingo move (standing on one leg, folding other one)... and ended up stung.
For those who can appreciate "folk remedies" - and this is NOT medical advice, folks... just something _I_ do with stings. I grab an unsmoked cig, rip it apart, wet a bit of tobacco in my palm, and place it on the sting. i keep it there and change it about every hour... in about 6 hours, i can remove it and replace whenever itching starts back up.
Anyways, this morning, there isn't a hint of swelling, only a little pain, and not much itching either. Not bad for a yellowjacket sting, huh?
This image came from a small child that stopped by with her parents yesterday at the sale... there was a bird in the tree, and she stood stock still, and stared up in wonder at it for quite a few minutes.

Very nice expression and the hair looks great! I sympathize with the yellow-jackets. I'm horribly allergic! :( Fortunately where I live the wasps are pretty passive...I give them their space and we just mutually respect each other from a distance. ;)
