Description

When this complex (50 units) was built, the fire department required a water source, since we are out of the main part of town and there were no hydrants. It was decided that a man made pond would be more pleasant looking than a bunch of hydrants. The fire department could then pump directly from the pond. Then came the Canada Geese – by the dozens. They left waste everywhere. So we put in a fountain. That would bother the geese and they would move on. This posting shows the results of our efforts. Photo taken yesterday. Thanks for stopping by, taking a look and for all your previous comments. Dana

nature almost always wins. I went to the zoo today and seen crocodiles that likes a water hose sprayed on them. an albino croc was drinking the water from the hose while it was floating in it's pool

there is a park not far from my house where the waterfowl gather. It looks so much like this...

A case of the best laid plans of mice and men, but it was a nice try and looks great.

I would suggest a simple rachet sprinkler which constantly rotates around in a circle. They would have to move constantly or leave. Many sizes are available, just make sure it reaches almost to the shore.

How nice of your complex to provide such a nice pond and fountain for the geese! lol... it reminds me of our Moscovy duck took over the kids' wading pool and wouldn't give it up - years ago. ;c)

Terrific textures in this shot, Dana. Kind of ridiculous not to have fire hydrants, but at least you got rid of most of the geese.
