Description
For those of you who so kindly commented yesterday, I thought you might like this.
To call Cornwall unpredictable is like saying the sun is a wee bit hot!
She is a fickle mistress as many have found out to their cost. Each year, without fail, some who vacation here fall foul of her inability (purposeful or not) - to make up her mind what the weather is going to be!
The images above are on the same track as the one posted yesterday. They were taken 15 minutes apart and a couple of minutes later I had to tuck my camera deeply into my thankfully waterproof haversack. From there on I trod a path I have trodden hundreds of times before with extreme care. I am used to doing this. I've done it here and in Devon, especially on my beloved Dartmoor, times without number.
Truth be told, I love this type of weather. I find it stunningly beautiful. On the Moors especially, whether Dartmoor, Bodmin or Exmoor, when this mist comes down, I find a rock, sit down and just 'Be'. Weather such as this is, I believe, a great leveler.
Others, vacationers mostly, but not always, find themselves in deep trouble. Doubly so because usually the Air Ambulance can't fly in such conditions, and that is very often the only way to get folks off the cliffs!
Many times the day begins with the mist then clears within a hour or so but I do think a small warning should be prominently placed at the beginning of each cliff walk. I mentioned this to one of our councilors only to be told that it might put folk off walking the cliff paths. I am still trying to work out the logic in that statement! I'd have thought better a live punter, happily returning year after year, than the bad publicity surrounding a cliff walkers accident or even a fatality. She actually got very shirty indeed when I said this too her. Hmm. The lady doth protest too much, methinks....
"note to self - stop rambling!" ^=^
Thank you for taking the time to look. ^=^

Great shots. Natures fickleties are what makes our beautiful island so appealing.

You want to be careful working around in the mist up there!
