This was taken at The Exploratorium a hands-on museum of science, art, and human perception in San Francisco.
When you drop a piece of dry ice in a bucket of water, the gas that you see is a combination of carbon dioxide and water vapor. So, the gas that you see is actually a cloud of tiny water droplets.
This little experiment showed what a comet would look like in space as it nears the sun and starts to vaporize.

My first thought was: "What a nice Fractal-Render-Image!" But it`s a photograph... Very cool shot!!
