Description

A couple of photographers crosses into the danger zone to get a close-up view of the lava. At times, the steam/plume would cover them completely. Anything could happen over that fragile lava bench. Aloha and thank you for viewing

I can't imagine risking my life like this. I might in different situations, but death-by-volcano has never seemed like a "romantic" way to perish. :-)

I love this view of the lava with all the different textures and the steam hovering the ground is an added bonus. I don't understand how people can be so dumb.

I remember being on the edge of the arches and feeling the waves hit those walls--I had to leave; it felt as though the whole world could collapse under my feet. But.....it would be hard not to want to get a closer look---great shot of these daring, but not too smart people!!

Gotta ask.... Do you ever just yell at people who do that? They may be totally ignorant of the scope of what they are doing. Reminds me of tourists in Oklahoma at the Wildlife Refuge near Lawton, they'd go out to the buffalo herd to get a cool pic then wonder why they have to run for their life from a momma cow or a territorial bull. Every year there were cars rammed and people hurt. Do they post a sign at the tourist parking... "Do NOT Go Beyond Designated Areas. (#) Deaths last year (#) Injuries. All costs for rescue/care and/or funeral are your own responsibility." To soften it they could add, we value our visitors and would like for them to be able to return. idk... ppl don't read anyway...

they remind me of ants investigating spilt pop on a hot day.... the pop drys up so fast and the sticky carmel in the syrup causes them to glue in place and that's all there is to it... I know you'd hate to see anything stupid happen to these people, but at the same time, you could probably sit there for hours and say: Am I going to see the making of Lavaboy??? LOL... yeah, I know, it's not funny - and - you better watch yourself, that title could be owned by you too = let's hope in a good way though - lol

It is why stupid people get into trouble and we always have to bail them out why not get stupid signs and just stick them to their foreheads so we know who they are but great capture sweets.

Sure catching an amazing image is a wonderful thing, but risking the chance of my life I would not do. I find this image to be fabulous and shows of the danger that photographers get into. Glad they did not get hurt. Well done!

Bella foto di un luogo che direi pericoloso! Non so quanto sicuro per quei due! Beautiful photos of a place that I would say dangerous! I do not know for sure what those two!

The guy on the right does not seem to be taking much caution of his footing. I wonder how often you wirness something, that prompts a shake of the head from left to right in amazement. ;) A great. caught in the act moment!
