Description

Taken in Gatlinburg, Tennessee at a Salt and Pepper Museum with a collection of over 20,000 different shakers from around the world. This is what was posted on a sign out front... WELCOME Come on in and explore the unique, amazing and unusual world of shakers. From Kennedy sitting in his rocking chair to shakers made of volcanic ash. You will never look at Salt & Pepper shakers the same way again. Someone asked if they also sell any salt and pepper shakers, yes they do there is a gift shop with quite a variety of items. And the price of admission into the museum can go towards any purchase as well I thought that was a nice touch. My daughter is going camping with some friends this weekend, I plan to get my bike out and get on the trails and get some exercise in, and to do some reading I started a book last night and 5 chapters later I finally closed it and went to sleep. The name of the book is the Rescue, by Nicholas Sparks if you have never read his books I highly encourage you to they are wonderful, especially his one titled Three Weeks With My Brother, it is one of two non fiction books he has written about a three week trip around the globe he makes with his brother, I cried and laughed all though that one. Have a happy and safe Memorial Day and weekend! thumb_2063790.jpg

I failed to comment on your last upload, but wanted to catch this one. Amazing what they can come up with for shakers!!! Some are so imaginative....

Another stellar and highly detailed shot of what apparently is, along with Chevys and old barns, one of your favorite subjects, Lynell. Egad, can you imagine if that store was on top of an earthquake fault? Wouldn't even be able to get insurance for all that fragile merchandise, sitting precariously on the shelves. And, sorry to say, I'm so busy postworking my tons of photos that I don't have any time to read any novels.

What a wonderful capture of all these shakers. It brought back memories for me as my mother in law used to have a great collection which was broken up when she died worse luck.

Wonderful shot. Not familiar with the book but I'm reading the autobiography of Patricia Neal. I admired her greatly and was very unaware of the trials she endured throughout her life.

I really have to watch my sodium intake. There's a permanent job for someone, dusting all of these. By the time you finish it's time to start over. This is a great shot.
