Description
I want to show you a bit of the view from the top of the Tybee Island lighthouse. Here we are looking west towards Savannah. Behind one of the two water towers on the island, you can faintly see the span of the bridge that crosses from Georgia to South Carolina. Savannah is to the left of it. Closer, the Tybee Island police station is just to the right of the water tower. The buildings in the foreground might be part of old Fort Scriven, now private homes and businesses.

I like this view a lot! It's funny, but I don't even notice cell phone towers; I think they'll eventually become dated, much like the old fashioned wooden telephone poles that are so ubiquitous in photos of the "good old days" of the early 20th century. It's kinda nice to think that someone could see a picture like this a century from now and go: "Oh, look, cell phone towers! You certainly don't see beauties like those any more!" They're oddly fascinating. But in addition to that, this whole shot is fascinating and like that barn structure a lot, it's a private home? It looks like one! I'd love to live in a converted barn! All in all, this is quite a great piece of photographic work, and a glimpse into a world that ain't Chicago!
