Description

It’s been along time since my last post I pray all is well. Going back to work after nine and a half months of layoff took some getting used too, not sure, but I don’t thing I’ve gotten used to it yet; the word retire keeps running through my head, LOL. I’ve been laid up for over a week with a bad knee yesterday was the day the boredom got the best of me, against Doctors orders it was time to get out of the house, so off to the lake I went. Maybe not the best place to try out a bum knee but it done use both good, smile. I bought a new camera a couple of months ago along with some other new equipment and haven’t had much of a chance to use it; just a little more incentive as if I needed any. I told myself I would shoot from the truck to stay off the knee, surely there would be something to shoot from the truck; there was, but of course not what I wanted to shoot, LOL. I found this guy at the Lake Murray Marina and was intrigued at how calm he appeared, as he stood motionless against the rush of the waves slapping the rocks just below him and the speed of the boats as they passed by. Keenly aware of me sneaking up on one side and the boats speeding by him on the other, he gave the allure of being in complete control, and I guess he was cause as soon as I crossed into that protective space that only he knew the boundary of, he was up and away. Thanks for stopping by and for any comment you should care to leave. It feels great getting back behind the lens again wishing all a great weekend!

Oh how I hurt my knee two days ago on an uphill hike. It's not bad, but certain things causes me much pain at times. Take care of yours. Knees are so necessary to have, and seem to injure so easily. This is a fantastic shot, and I like the description of how that bird had an unknown boundary for that protective space.

Didn't initially get the idea of the background until I read your note. Now I've been starring at the heron...probably calm on the outside...stirring on the inside. Great capture. Congrats on back to work and know you are not the only one suffering a bit with a knee:)
