I call this kind of pose an "artistic" pose, for me it's a pose done for only a POV and not another. If you would can turn around him, you would say a big LOL :-D

If you look closely at Frank Frazetta's pictures - which this one reminds me of - you will see lots of "impossibilities in the poses he uses. In the end composition, pictorial expression and "telling the story" are more important. This picture tells the story.
