I like the balance between fantasy and plausibility; it could be a 1930s racer or a cartoon hero's transport of choice. Your sketch at bottom right reminds me of Scott Robertson's tutorial on aircraft design.

Thanks for your comments @ steerpike Yes, I was indeed inspired by him...hes just amazing and I learned a lot (For those who don't know it; Scott Robertson makes drawing tutorials at thegnomonworkshop.com)
