Description

This was Belinda's first time walking alone in the cities outer walkways. Usually she stayed to the interior where it was more, how should I put it, more "family friendly". Outside it was wild and less domesticated and the people were barely civilized. Pimps, prostitutes, bums and artificials of all forms and models, most of them antique. There were also the aliens, the Breen, who were always aloof when it came to humans. At least the air was fresh. Barely one hundred years ago it would have smelled of oil, smog and garbage. Once the oil had ran out and everything had switched to electric or plasma driven vehicles and mobile devices, once the garbage began to be recycled to run the organic farms outside of the city, the city had become much more unpolluted. Trash had become valuable for it's worth as a fertilizer in the hydroponic farms. Nothing was wasted and everything got used again and again. Belinda was an innocent. She barely knew how to act around the "Outies", as the inner city folk called them. Her Mother said they were called that because they lived in the outside parts of the City and not within the Interior of the Building Block. Father said it was from the term "Outlaw" because they were criminals and were not allowed in the Interior. They had to live in the open, not the safe, clean and healthy Inside. Belinda found them exciting but she had to admit they scared her somewhat. Especially ones like the man who was presently staring strangely at her and the woman in the skimpy orange clothes who seemed to be angry with her for some reason. Well, three more walkways to go and she could re-enter the City Block through the Security Portal. She picked up her pace, wishing she was already at the Portal. Home again and safe.

First time in weeks I have felt better. Wanted to make a picture with a little more to it than the simple ones I have been doing. Thought that Stonemasons "Urban Future3 would serve well as the basic backdrop and them filled it with people. Hope you find the story one that makes sense and holds your interest as well. Happy three day weekend to those here in the U.S. and good weekend to all wherever you are. Sure nice to be without that nagging headache....by the way, that's me on the sign above the girls head...heheheh...... gene

Nice picture with amusing setting and storyline. If you want the maximum number of people to be alive with really poor conditions the future should be great. What's really scary is some old bloke with a beard has been posted on high as a future Mao or Stalin figure. Presumably 'The Grear Artist' now governs human society. A nice touch I thought.
