Description
Well, someone has to...
Hello everyone -
This little scene is not meant to be a fine piece of artwork; its purpose is to send a message. Give me a second. I have to get on my soapbox.
OK.
Unless you have been living somewhere with no outside contact for the last 5/6 weeks, you are fully aware of what's going on in the Gulf of Mexico.
Perhaps you don't care about any of this. Well, for you I have nothing to say, so goodbye. But, if you do care and have had enough of this tyranny by big oil, and are able to, use your car less, walk more, ride a bike, ride a horse, car pool, use mass transit if possible, and, if you must use your car, try not to go over 55 mph. Turn off all those unnecessary lights, keep your air conditioner off unless absolutely necessary, and, even then, keep it at the lowest comfortable temperature settings. In other words, conserve as much energy as you are able to.
We, and by that I mean all peoples of the earth, must cut our dependency on those nasty fossil fuels for our energy needs. And we all have a role to play.
Maybe there will be a silver lining in this horrific cloud, and, that is, if enough of us are moved, angered enough by this disgusting event, we will force our respective governments to really accelerate clean, renewable energy. Call them, harass them, push them. And if they don't want to do the right thing, vote them out and put in a green representative. Remember they are supposed to be working for YOU.
Just how many "accidents" like this have to happen before people wake up. Fossil fuels have seen their day. It is like the guy who carelessly cuts off one of his fingers with a buzz saw and then cuts off another one to see if it doesn't hurt as much. Really crazy. Really dumb.
Thanks for stopping by and for bearing with me.
Have a nice week.

Very well said. I hope your thoughts will serve as a catalyst to inspire people to conserve and push for better sources of energy. This is truly a cute little creation.

É UMA BELA OBRA MINHA AMIGA,GRANDE MENSAGEM ASSISTI A REPERTAGEM É UMA TRAGÉDIA QUE ESTA ACONTECENDO NO GOLFO É UMA PERDA INRREPARAVEL DA FAUNA MARINHA,ASSIM MUITAS COISAS ACONTECEM COM A NATUREZA E NÓS NÃO NÃO SABEMOS QUE OS GOVERNANTES ESCODEM,ESTOU MUITO TRISTE COM O QUE ACONTECU. ESTAS PESSOAS SÓ PENSAM EM DINHEIRO,ELES ESTÃO PREOCUPADOS O QUANTO DINHEIRO ELES PERDERAM E QUANTO VÃO GASTAR PARA LIMPAR ESTA BAGUNÇA. OBRIGADO PELA MENSAGEM.

Excellent image.

I can't agree with you more Barb. We have one compact car in my family (not an SUV or Hummer) and I carpool to work. I do not live in an over sized home and I've replaced my lights with compact fluorescent bulbs as well. It breaks my heart to see the disaster in the Gulf. All the more so because this did not need to happen at all. Still, at least the desire for rampant drilling of the ocean floor (see: "Drill Baby Drill") is no longer in vogue as it was 18 months ago.

Fantastic message, keep it up! I would also encourage everyone who can to support their local farms, buy organic and stop using chemicals in your yards and houses. There are alternatives, so use them! Great image!
