Excellent work! Great atmosphere. Very realistic. You can almost imagine what might be going through the native's mind as he looks at the new arrivals... :O)

Looks like the native American is thinking,"Well, there goes the neighborhood!" REALLY well done! Could be a time-travel photo! Great job!

Very well made. I like the sky and lighting, setting the tone for what was to come between the Vikings and the "skraelings". The first landing was with only one ship. He later returned with more ships to cut wood for the settlement in Greenland (which had no wood). Then came settlements. Yes, the Indian had reason to say "There goes the neighborhood." In fact, Barry Fell, professor of epigraphy at Harvard, has written a book "America, B.C." (Pocket Books, 1989, ISBN 0-671-67974-0) in which he describes written testimony to ancient Egyptians visiting central North America, Roman coins on a New England beach, ancient Hebrew inscriptions in the US south-west, Celtic sun observatories in New England, etc.. Very interesting.

Great stance on the Indian. Looks like it could be my great Grandfather standing there. Lovely work!

What, what an atmosphere you have created. You can feel the cold, wet coastal wetland forest. Despite the distance of the Viking ships I can anticipate their sense of wonder as the enter this new world.

He landed here in Newfoundland, not far from where I live. The ruins were discovered, excavated in the 60s, and restored to likely original structure.
