I am 58 years young, live in Johannesburg, South Africa and I'm a true product of my continent. I love the bush, the animals, sunshine, sunsets - oh well, anything to do with nature. I am unmarried and have three sons - 37, 33 and 30 respectively and three granddaugters aged 12, 6 and 4 respectively and obviously the light of my life! Photography has always been a passion and I have loved it since I can remember. I was still using a SLR camera and only switched to digital only in late 2007! My other passion is travel and I have been lucky enough to have travelled fairly widely. There are however still many, many places I would love to visit "one day." I am truly an amateur photographer and do it merely as a hobby. So please be gentle when you comment on my work. :-) Thank you Piet, my dear friend, for convincing me to place my work on Renderosity. You owe me one! Hugs, Carin xx

For days you've traveled across the trackless sands. The merciless sun beats down on your head and you know it is only a matter of time before the desert will claim you. You reach the top of yet another dune and there, laid out before you, is an oasis of blue and red canopies, a dream from your fevered imagination. As you approach a man in a white jacket smiles and says, "Welcome sir, may I show you to your seat?" I really like this image. It brings thoughts of other times and other places.

Makes me think of tents at a medieval joust. I probably have seen too many movies. LOL. Nicely done and yes, midday sun is tough to work around. I've got a few too many white skies to prove it:)

Beautiful capture and range of colors. I agree with Bill about the medieval aspect. Dana

I love the high colors--no surprise there!!---would have loved to join you for lunch!!

Meet me for lunch and we'll do lunch. At least that's the way they talk in Hollywood. Yes, that does have a medieval rennaissance fair flair about it. I would be expecting troubadors, harlequins and sword swallowers to be about, entertaining the royalty, knights and their ladies during this event, followed by a competition of archery, falconry and sword fighting. In any case, stunning colors and stark lighting contrast in this borrowed camera capture, Carin!

Save a seat for me!

What a marvelous image! It has an otherworldy feel to it, like something familiar, but distinctly NOT familiar. Those colors are magical, and I particularly like the supports of the tent canopies themselves: nice curves! This is so incredibly good. We'll meet for lunch!

The image is great, Carin... as well as the place! If you don't want to have problems with a strong light, try filters... also you can set your camera for sunset mode - it will help a lot!
