I added some Photoshop brushes to the background but the actual backs don't have those. I left it that way to leave room for Artists to enhance them by adding their own "twinklemacallits" if they wish to.

What an entrancing scene, Jenny. One can so get lost in it... so much exquisite detail. The colours just by themselves are soft and inviting. The fairy-mother's touch is as soft as the colours: this is a scene for mothers and daughters everywhere. Beautiful, thoughtful composition, elegantly conceived and beautifully rendered.

Twinklemacallits? This is now officially my new favorite word. Next to "elbow," "curmudgeon" and "scrumtrulescent." This scene is so light and magical, and I really feel a connection between the two characters. You just get better and better!

The words that went with those are so moving. You might want to consider using this style in some places when you embelish your story. Now I understand about your backgrounds, and yes, you left us plenty of room for "twinklemacallits" (so great a phrase) while still providing a substantive framework to create our scenes. I wondered about this when I was working on the set and it is nice to see it was deliberate... for your sets are surely screaming for magical embellishment. And now I do not feel bad about beefing up my own as it was deliberate intent to give us latitude. This background certainly seems to have made a particular hit.
