Oh my goodness this is breathtaking, I love how you weaved the horses into the waves, and that the stallion is faded into the background. Just mesmerisingly beautiful, well done you are so clever. hugs Jane xx

Absolutely splendid image! Kinda reminds me of "The Last Unicorn" movie at the end. Lovely colors chosen.

it goes without saying that when I return to RR (I've been gone for some time but for a few memorials and a hello), coming here is as much a lesson as an inspiration. It's both. This vision is typically lush, opulent and spirit-filled. Your words are brief and capture your feeling perfectly. The horses are really what many people would picture horse-spirits to be, that is, the spirit-presence within the horse. The mares move like wind itself, they have a fluidity like water, the central mare is wonderfully flowing & free, the flowers in her hair make her into opulent goddesses, and you've painted the central mare's body with very introspective greens & turquoise-blues that suggest she's made of water as much as flesh. The horse, left-back, is all fury & spirit, her head looking down and away as if she's immersed in thoughts. And there's a big tuft of wind on the right, which suggests another horse off frame---but that's too limiting, because, from what I've seen of your work, it could simply be more spirit flying through the air, more horse-spirit that will go on forever outside the frame of the painting. And not only do we see water below (through lines like the dragons in Chinese paintings, whose lines were supposed to be spirit as well as flesh), but you have the most beautiful greenish blue hues in the top half---esp on the right---suggesting that the whole world is made of this water. A lush beautiful work, and a lesson because of your meticulous sense of line (it never fails), the way lines move with each other, your wonderful sense of hues, and your way with overall palettes, and the way you do this all the time as if you breathed these paintings onto the page in a huge cosmic exhale. Wonderful work, stunning technique, and the spirit is in every inch of the work. I hope this finds you well, Carol, and filled with inspiration. Peace to you too...

aww. These remind me of my childhood where I would spend hours drawing horses and unicorns and then color them in with chalks. Your image is so beautiful! Thanks for helping me remember a fond memory :)
