I'm not too worried for the bird. Snakes can be fast; but birds have sharp eyes and I expect chickadee isn't going to let him get much closer. Fine drama here.

Sensationell realistische Naturszene! Da braucht's keine Animation um zu sehen, wie die Schlange gleich nach vorne schnellt. Aber ich hoffe mal auch, daß sie in diesem Fall leer ausgeht!

The atmosphere matches the anticipation of the final outcome. I think he flies away and the snake must continue to hunt for his next meal. Wonderful and creative scene, beautifully done.
