Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Gorgeous glow on that branch!

Good backlighting makes for superb silhouetting, Marilyn! The vine running diagonally from lower left to upper right is virtually ghostlike.

FANTASTIC!!! When I first looked at this I thought the branch was covered in ice. Isn't it cool what light can do? Reminds of when I lived in Florida and how the setting sun would play in the Spanish moss. Great shot.

Very pretty how the light catches that little branch. Good eye to spot this. Dana

I've come back to this and realized I didn't comment! How odd! Eh, I'm a flake sometimes, and I tend to forget to do the most basic things like, you know, carry my wallet with me? Anyway. My first thought when I saw this was: WOW, and coming back, again and again (and again) I still think: WOW! The light coming through everything is so ethereal and primal. It's like you've walked into a very primordial forest and took pictures of life on earth back when it was brand new and not so ragged around the edges! This is superb!
