Description

This is just another view from the Radisson Blu Hotel in Cape Town where we stayed last week. Table Mountain was behind me when I shot this image. The little spit of land just visible on the right hand side of the image is Robben Island where Nelson Mandela has been incarcerated for many years. Thank you for popping in and for your very valued comments and favs on my upload "Coming Apart" of yesterday! Stay well! Hugs Carin xx Please remember to visit the Photography Forum Challenge to share your images of the lighter side of life with us! The theme this month is "Life is a Laugh"...

A beautiful view, though knowing Mr. Mandela spent so many years on that tiny piece of land, unable to leave, is very sad. At least he was finally set free.

What a lovely view. I like the triangular shape that makes the hotel and the coast above the see...

lol, Harry..."Just? You say, Just?" Exactly. It's a beautiful image, great clarity on everything, a wonderful slope to the water, your composition has wonderful lines from the lines of the water to the island, contrasting with the rocks in front of it, next to the sweep of clouds and horizon...And wonderful contrasts in 'things' too:In rocks & railings, to tables & trees & water & clouds---a real gathering of entities. But they're all unified under your dramatic composition, and with a fine bluish palette as well. And the texture and presence of those rocks are a piece in themselves. (Love 'm.) Wonderful work, Carin. I've been gone so long, I hope to come back here soon...
