I'm sorry I've been absent from RR for so long, but it's always a pleasure to return to your gallery. And thank you for coming to mine, even when I didn't come to any galleries. It's always hard to choose one image of yours, when I've missed many, because your quality is always very fine and very subtle. This is a beautiful capture, you caught the wonderful irregularities of the house, you caught its 'lopsidedness', you caught its strength, its rather bleached tones, and its very fine detail on the roof and chimney. And, as if the surroundings harmonized with the house, the grass & bushes & trees have a simple quality, ie, nothing fancy, but they're present all the same. Also, a good amount of flat ground in front of the house, giving a nice balance to the rest of the shot; and the shadows under the house's eaves are really fine. A fine bleached light, and a kind of dreamy quality all around. More fine & sensitive work from you, Mary. I hope to get back her sooner than before, your gallery is always a delight.
