Description
This is another part of the remains of an A-26 Invader which crashed in East Ayrshire on 13th August 1956 near Distinchorn Hill.
It's roughly a 7 mile trek through moor and bog. One of the reasons why it's still mostly intact after all this time. A few bits have been lifted by ghouls over the years though.
55o 33'45.59" N 4o 13' 57.00 W are the coordinates if you want to check the area on Google Earth. The wreckage actually shows up on the map as white dots.

I found a B-24 crash site in N.Wales, also well off the beaten track. Not as 'clean' as this one and well pillaged, though the engines and some larger parts of fusilage and wings still in place.Great captures here, and very interesting (to me anyhow).
