Description
Hello, everybody,
I'm a beginner and this is my first post in the gallery.
I have real difficulties with ligths and I spent 6 hours trying several renders with different ones... I'm not satisfied with those ones but I do like how the shadow falls on the character face.
Every comment, review or advice is welcome.
Thanks for them.
Sorry if my english is approximative : I am French ;)
I do not remember where I found this nice freebie sword ...
Made with Daz, no postwork except for the signature.

Your english is fine. I like the lighting a lot! I love her face and the pose is very good. (ps: I would only correct the cloth on her foot. This does not look right)

Beau travail. Tu sembles avoir déjà tenté d'utiliser (avec succès) certains des onglets cachés de DAZ.

Welcome to the Arena of Creative Expression! I like this image. It is a wonderful and appropriate selection to begin your exhibition. Yes, light demands attention and patience. :-) How we illuminate our works will determine their ultimate success or failure. We also must consider and attend to shading as much as illumination. You are right to be pleased with the shadows upon her face. This shading makes the image more interesting and we want to know more about who she is because it is not "brightly" clear. Very nice work. I look forward to returning and watching your gallery grow. With warm regards, Terry

Very impressive work for a beginner. I love the attention to detail, the way you make the lace fold over her feet, sheer brilliance. The posing and emotion, outstanding. I look forward to seeing more of your art. Impressive style.

Lighting will make or break any composition and so spending time doing several renders with several different light sets is always worth the time. For fantasy work I highly recommend the light sets that come with DM building sets, these are excellent sets and will provide a solid foundation. At first you can use them straight up, but with practice you will learn to modify them to fine fit your particular image. But choose the more recent ones because the old ones that work for poser 4 have way too many lights and take way too long. Abraxas is a particularly good set, Briana's Temple, Moon Cult and Dawn Breaker also are fine sets. Here you did a nice job on the shadows, the depth is not so deep as to appear unatural and there is a bit of blur to the edge. If you have photoshop or psp you can use the dodge brush to lighten some of the shadow ares on your charcter to bring out details that are a little to hidden. You are off to a great start.

Allez, je reprends un peu les galeries dans le sens inverse ;) Magnifique portrait de guerrière pour commencer! Elle paraît détendue, donc pas en attente d'ordres, plutôt un instant de repos.
