Description
Before white settlement the local natives used to catch fish in the river by making a fish trap of woven fibre. When a contest for a pedestrian bridge was announced the winning design was based on the shape and design of the original native fish trap. I find that it not only meets the required job of carrying people across the river but it is also a outdoor piece of sculpture. I will upload a number of shots so you can decide for yourself.
