the sweetie still was on my balcony.... I took all the time to improve the macro, and enjoyed doing so

Knappe en interessante macro die me aanzette tot opzoeken van verdere info ter zake. Er komen in Nederland 59 soorten eendagsvliegen voor. Als larve (nymf) leeft de eendagsvlieg onder water. In het voorjaar kruipen ze uit het water en vormen ze grote zwermen van miljoenen individuen. Omdat eendagsvliegen vaak slechts enkele uren tot maximaal 20 dagen leven hebben ze geen mond en geen spijsverteringskanaal. Het enige wat de volwassen eendagsvlieg doet, is zich voortplanten. I love your macros. They give me a view of things I would never have seen. This Mayfly is fantastic up close, they could use these faces in horror movies.. or science fiction movies!
