UPDATED: September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Ralphie has been a studio model in some previous life, this is very like him! Thankyou So much, Bill! I got rid of my pot history books to make shelf space but I'm sure I'll track him down.

Another fine gift for Andrea! lol Many Happy Returns.... As to the name... Or even if its Wedgwood (?), I am not sure.. You have taken the colour out the picture.. But have to say, it looks the most unwedgwood, wedgwood I've ever seen! lol Could be a piece made to commemorate something? Maybe? lol I'm going on... Rob

Really excellent images of this fascinating piece. I didn't get any decent photos of this guy, or his mate. Too dark in that entranceway. You've done a great job showing this guy ... he's quite a charmer! Wonderful gift for Andrea for her birthday. :)

tara just told something of your inimitable skills in museums, saying that it was too dark in that entranceway: Not easy to get these shots, but we all know your skills in museums by now. It's very well captured, and such a fascinating creature! I don't know a thing about the style. I just know it's fascinating, from the opening in the back (maybe required in baking, or for carrying), to the long smooth torso, to the stylized tail, to the inscription on his collar. What a specimen. And it's really good for Andrea because it's a dog, it's ceramic, it's in a museum, and it's just plain fun. You always put thought into your work bill. A fine museum capture, and a fine gift for our friend, and I'm going to check out the style when I have time. And last but not least, Happy Birthday, Andrea!!!

wonderful looking and happy brithday

Nice one, Bill, especially considering the lighting (or lack thereof) you were shooting in. He looks really great. I don't know beans about English ceramic antiquities, but he does look a tiny bit like Winston Churchill - at least to me.... Maybe there's something funny in my coffee....

Beautiful collage :)
vintorix
Nice doggie but what was it used for, saving money? Antique English ceramics is not my strong point, (not that either! :)

How much is that doggie in the window? Stellar photography in this fine choice of subject matter for Andrea on her birthday.
