Description
Photo taken of an old photo at the Fort Screven (Tybee Island) Museum. It did not say who this was, but I thought the quality of this old print was exception, and I wanted to share it.
Be sure to view it full size for some amazing detail, thanks!

Lafayette, I am here. Good foto of the resplendent fusileer, or whatever those warriors were called, Kort. Lots of color and texture in this one.

Firstly, kool macro and slice of history ! Secondly, he looks just like an English comedian Ross Knoble...well, except for the face fur, otherwise spitting image ! KKK & ~Cheers~

Very interesting indeed! I love old stuff like this, it's quite fascinating to think how it's been preserved for so many years! Thx for sharing Kortalouche :)

Wow, a great old photo. I cannot imagine having to wear such a uniform. It looks SO uncomfortable!

What an image! I love antiques like this, mostly because things age so beautifully, especially when they were beautiful and well-crafted to begin with. I don't know who this soldier is, but he possesses the sort of idealized handsome regality that only gets better with the patina of age. I love the dominance of the sepia tones, the soft lighting, and the rich sense of texture you've captured here. This is quite marvelous work with a wonderfully Old World feel to it.

Kort - Are you sure this is a photo & not a painting? The hands & face don't look photographic at all to me. Maybe a photo that was tinted or touched up with paint?
