Description

Spotted this home, on my last visit, to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. It was built in the flood zone and was elevated high enough to handle a hurricane storm surge. Photo taken in April of 1997, with a hand held film camera and recently scanned. Thanks for stopping by, taking a look and for all your previous comments. Dana

Since that house is on a hill, it would be a heck of a storm surge. Great shot of a pretty strange looking place!!

Let's revisit this location...storms can even catch flying saucers when they aren't looking. What a great find!

That is a very nice design for a house and quite intelligent in planning and execution. Kinda makes you wonder why others don't do the same

Defensive living. Maybe it can take off and fly too! Great shot. Wonderful to see.

I don't know about an elevated home, but it sure looks like a mother ship's space shuttle to me, or perhaps an underwater submersible for exploratory purposes. In any event, a cool capture of this unique structure, Dana.

A great looking home, looks like one of the pod homes we were all going to live in in the 1970's, it also looks like it could float if the water got to deep.
