Major Arcana, The Hermit - Shown in positive aspect denotes wisdom turned inward on one's self. Self reflection, meditation. The serpent coiled egg and background of grass and wheat ties the card to fertility, creation and the symbol for Virgo. The Hebrew letter for the card is Yod, meaning hand, which explains why his hand is so prominently displaced near the center of the card. He is burdened by both the serpent and Cerberus possibly denoting the dangers of both knowledge and abandoning oneself to solitude. This series is simply about my interpretation and attempted reproduction of certain tarot cards from the Alexander Crowley "Thoth Tarot" series.
