Description

Story Synopsis: Trace Brackett is a Texan who lost his wife and son to an Indian raid on his home. His little daughter was taken captive. Now a guide for a Buffalo hunting train, he has used that to search for her. Lucy Delsie, who also lost her family to an Indian raid was a prisoner rescued from the Indians. through their various adventures Trace finally finds his daughter, and his love for an amazing woman. Trace Brackett walked faster. His long stride was strong and confident. The calls of a child- "Papa! Papa!"- were clear above the sweeping crackle of the flames. Spotted Bear sat Erect and tall until the child reached Brackett. Trace knelt and swept his daughter into his arms. He straightened and looked directly at the Comanche chief. Spotted Bear made no sign. He simply swung his pony to ride off with his braves. Trace headed back to the wagons, pressing his child to his chest. The little girl's tears streamed down her cheeks while she hugged her father close. Lucy Walked to meet them. "We're alright now." Trace said. "It'll be easy. You'll see, we'll be alright now." A Scene from a 1966 book i just finished reading called Buffalo Grass. although these Characters are not the main one's, i just loved one of the final ending parts, and couldn't help making an image of it.
