My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

Well, I daresay you're getting some very good shots with it, even if you can't spell "Canon." LOL

I LOVE the shadow of the 'creature'! A super pic, but then your 'little' camera pics are too!

Nice work.... Aloha

Well done. Your composition keeps reminding me of the art in shooting little pieces. Somehow I've drifted off to mostly big things and lots of whole things again. Time for me to think small some more...:)

Oh Hun, I didn't even know that you have a new toy!!! Congrats!!! I'm also a Canon gal!!! I like them! Never toss the old one though!!! This image is amazing - the backlight perfect! I love it!
MrsLubner
Such a lovely and inspiring shot!

Yeah, I'd keep the Canon a day or two more - this is superb - the detail and strong contrast are eye-catching. Of course your own skills in composition help a bit too. ;)

I like complex images that appear simple. You have to go exploring to dig out all the goodies. The light is perfect. The veins on the leaves, the shadows on the lower leaves, the dark background and, of course, the 'horned' silhouette all add to the 'simplicity' of this picture. Excellent work.

Nice one, Tara! Plenty of detail in the leaves, even in this fairly high contrast situation. I wouldn't toss the Canon just yet, but if you do, put it in a box and toss it this way :-D
jocko500
keep on shooting with the cannon. it will be great when you learn i still mess up on it so do not worry . we all take bad shots at times
MrsRatbag
Lovely shot; you can't go wrong with light through leaves! If you decide to toss the Canon let me know where you toss it :)

I love a good Cannon, no matter what the make may be. My little workhorse has more than paid for itself with all of the pictures I've taken, and to be nice, I'm buying a new memory card for it soon. Now, as for this photo, I love the way that the leaves look luminous, as if THEY are the source of the light. How incredibly nice! And don't you just love playing with settings? That's how I learned how to do night shots, by the way...just fiddle until you stumble across something!

Beautiful capture and lighting! I love the shadow on the third leaf from the left. Dana
