REMEMBER
The rose’s petals wither but we still
Recall its fragrance and its beauty; still
Remember all the joy it brought to us
Who knew it lived. And so it is with those
Who pass to something we can’t understand.
They live in memories nothing can erase.
They are eternal in our hearts and genes
Because they parented a precious gift
With grander meanings than this little poem.
THEY GAVE US YOU.
