Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Magical, Marilyn!! I love the painterly postwork, and the idea that some little person lives in there, I'm sure.

Beyond superlative capture of this old denizen of the forest, Marilyn! I don't know about the whispers and secrets, but if that isn't the home of a troll or dryad, then I'll be fit to be tied. Then again, the Headless Horseman, atop his snorting steed, would leap out of a tree similar to this.

a must, full size: Your postwork brings out the delicate & highly complex interplays of hue, moss, discolored bark, etc etc, that populate these remarkable beasts. As is almost always the case with redwood photos (even from Nat. Geographic), one could almost believe this was on an intimate scale. But given the scale of the leaves, it's clear that this is a large structure. And your emphasis of all the hues & variations brings home what a miniature universe these redwood forests must be. Beautiful work on a beautiful living being. A really eye-caressing image.
