Description

Hello all. I'm currently working on the reproduction of a castle near Saint-Malo to create a QTVR-based virtual visit for the owners. Here is the castle as it is now, though it is still work in progress. Any comment welcome.

Very good model and geometry, but don't you have real photograph to use as texture? Or is the current material only temporary? Anyhow, excellent work!

It's an excellent model. The wall texture is good, but I tend to agree with vintorix above--especially, since you've gone to so much trouble to make a detailed model.

Thanks for your comments. I don't have good enough photos for the textures (plus, photo textures always need procedural tweaking to map and render correctly, imho). I will go to the spot next july and hopefully will have a weather that will allow me to shoot high-res photos if not for full textures at least for reference (e.g. cloudly enough). These ones are for the moment temporary. Photo based roof texture is on the way. Stay tuned. ;)
